Down came an irrestible impulse among the social engineers around Gadia G.P. for a centre of higher learning amid their lush green surroundings. Their over-bubbling ardour and fervour coupled with steadfastness bore fruit when this college. Anchanika Mahavidyalaya saw the light of day on ten acres of land on 14th August 1981. The establishment of this institution was a landmark--- a splendour and grandeur for the whole area and its neighborhood. For this considerable thanks are due to three august Personalities i.e. Dr. Manmatha nath Dash, the then V.C. of Utkal University, Mr. D.N. Padhi, the then Collector and D.M. of Mayurbhanj and Sri Prasanna Kumar Dash, Ex-MLA of Moroda Block. Away from hubbub of medding crow the college has a traquil atmosphere amid majestic sal jungles congenial to study and suitable for academic pursuits. Healthy teacher-student relationship sound sense of discipline among the teacher regular teaching peaceful conduct of the CHSE and University Examination and satisfactory results in the examinations are some of the worth-reckoning features of the college. The I.A. stream of the college obtained affiliation from Utkal university in 1983. This I.A. stream was converted into +2 Arts stream in 1989 in 1989 being successfully incorporated in 254 old college of Odisha.

The +2 Science Stream was opened in the year 2005. Similarly Govt. of Odisha was pleased to accord concurrence for opening of +3 Arts stream in 1989 and the college obtained affiliation from Utkal University in the year 1990. The College has been imparting teaching facility in honours since 2009 and Economics honours since 2010. After establishment of North Odisha University at Takatpur, Baripada on 11.07.1999 our college has ipsofacto been affiliated to N.O.U. The college has traversed a long way in the midst of a number of stumbling stones and now it has reached a turning point with a view to taking a great leap towards a brilliant future of appreciation and applause.
